Design - engineered fuel systems, shift controls, brake systems, and accelerator systems leveraging NX leveraging the mature GM standard vehicle development processes
Innovation - convinced senior leadership that allowing me to leverage my engineering knowledge and my software development skills to develop software to automate complex engineering tasks was an investment. Initial application was an ergonomics application that transformed a manual board drafting process that took months for each vehicle proposal to an application with sliders that 3D transformed the 3D CAD geometry that took minutes. The software enforced/restricted leveraging government regulations and GM proprietary design guidelines to ensure conformance. After months of personal time developing the application, senior leadership granted me approval to spend 50% of my time developing software and soon after approval to hire development resources to transform engineering.

I have developed leveraging many languages and frameworks over my career, starting with FORTRAN, C, PHP, Perl, Ufunc, UGOpen, and many more. More recently I developed leveraging Java, Bash, C++, and Python. Although a senior leader for decades, designing requires a modern understanding of language capabilities and I enjoy staying current by developing too.
